Design🎨 + People👥 + Technology🚀 = Dream career❤️

Hi, I am Jimmy!👋

Reason for UX

I pursued a career in UX because of my passion for people and technology. However, a significant motivator for me was my parents. Though they have yet to become familiar with UX, they encounter it daily. They sometimes struggle with certain aspects of technology and often ask me for assistance. I aspire to become a designer who can help the older generation intuitively enjoy technology.

Before UX

I completed my studies in Business Economics at the University of California, Irvine. While holding various leadership positions in college, I discovered my affinity for people and technology. Despite working in accounting for a while, I desired something more fulfilling and chose to enter the world of front-end programming. Yet, there was still a lack of human interaction and assistance. This is when I found my passion for UX/UI design.

UX Milestone

Completed both specialization for Cal Arts and UCSD for UX design⭐️

My journey into the world of UX began with online classes. I needed to start with something manageable before diving headfirst into a new field. The instructors were beneficial, and the classes allowed me to create my first few projects.

Completed a design program from DesignLab👨‍🎓

After completing several specializations, I decided to take my career more seriously and made a significant financial investment to enroll in an online intensive program. The program lasted nine months and involved over 450 hours of project work and mentorship from experience designers. By the end of it, I had completed four projects.

Won a startup competition with Moodcloud🏆

One of my most significant achievements was winning first place in Consumer Service at the UCI New Venture competition. My team designed a mental health app that helps users track their moods and daily tasks.

Joined another startup team, Unconvo👥

I was part of a startup team that worked on an app that allows users to discuss their favorite books on a thread.

Worked at Fabletics as their UX Designer🎽

While at Fabletics I worked with cross-functional teams on various projects from redesigning the landing page to the checkout page. Helped increase sales conversion for over 2million VIP members.
